Finished the first week in NP. Kinda like what I see there, but I can't help feeling the atmosphere is a little...artificial? Maybe its because of the different environment, the school is big or the fakeness of the personalities of some people there.

A classmate told me this, when people go to Poly, they try to create for themselves a new personality, whether its in their nature, or something opposite of themselves. Basically, it means the people there are 'fake' in a kind of way.

Other than this uneasy feeling, I enjoyed school. Didn't really do much, we just simply told there's going to be alot of drawing, and its going to be very very techincal, kind of like DnT back in Secondary school.

Bleh. Short post ftw.

March 11 2009, went out with friends to take a look at the Ngee Ann Poly roadshow. We walked from Dover MRT..

Road to nowhere......

After we reached NP, asked some questions, walked around a little, and went to Macdonalds to spy on Ang Mohs, we split and me and Meldric went with the girls to Orchard for the day.

And then we ate pizza!
Even as we eat, there's always a photo opportunity!

Went to the IT fair the next day, got nothing but a disappointment in some prices. Oh and I got molested pretty much by everybody. Why? 'Cause the place was packed.

Went to the NP IT roadshow to buy my mac and......

Taa-daa! Introducing the Macbook.

Even cats love it!

Still trying to get a hang of this thing though, been a Mac user for only....22 hours. And yes, I'm blogging using the Macbook. Until then.

Didn't do much today.

Finally got the hang of playing barre chords. The first song played entirely using barre is "The Guns of Brixton" by The Clash. Easy to play and catchy too. Recommended for any one trying to practice barre chords.

Watched the Watchmen today. A decent film, pretty gloomy and what, there was like, 4 or 5 sex scenes? Not as epic as I anticipated, but the action's still great.

After spending 3 days, 2 nights at the chalet, we went home tired, hungry, burnt and constipated.

Can't be bothered to go into details, overall, it was alright.

I'm debating whether or not I should get my Macbook in Ngee Ann Poly, or the roadshow. Apparently, it is more worth it in the long run if I purchase it from school. It comes with the 3 year guarantee thing which costs $446 by itself, along with a program that costs about $200-$300 and an adapter. The retail price for the Macbook costs $1.5K.

But the cheapest Mac from NP costs 1.9K. The most expensive (but beautiful) laptop in school. I'm thinking of applying for the interest-free thing. If I'm eligible, I'll get the one that costs $2.2K.

I'd reckon a Mac from the IT fair would cost $1.4-$1.5, but without the protection plan and the program.

Time will tell.

Went to to SPH for the job thing.

It was a decent environment. The workload doesn't kill anyone, and I'm paid by how much work I've done. I inserted 2100 Burger King coupons into the newspaper. It's not back breaking actually.

So I'm paid $16.80. Not too bad, since I've worked there for like, 3 hours. It's like $5.60 per hour.

Now for the shit side of the job.

No, this timwe it's not the boss, but one of the aunties there. She's sarcastic with her remarks, gives that fucked up face (note that she is an old hag) and grabbed me by the arm. The moment she saw me and knew it was my first time, she sort of told me to get the fuck out and go some where far to do my job, since we had to 'steal' newspapers from one another. Eventually, I had to move since there was a new auntie as well.

I give that cunt five years, five fuckin' years and she's six feet underground.

It's first of March.

Went to Penin yesterday with BK and Julius. Bought a Clash tee and a graphic-cartoon-whatever thing shirt.

I've yet to submit a single thing to Ngee Ann Ploytechnic, to lazy to fill out all those paper work.

Going for a one day job at SPH later this evening with Jing Long. I'm running short of cash, and my payment from my previous job has yet to arrive. This one, apparently, pays on the spot. Doesn't sound too bad.

Went jamming, again, with Alyfie, Darren, Jing Long, Julius, Matin and a newcomer, Li Ping. We had a good performance. Jammed till 5.30

After jamming, we went to eat at Sakura. Damn, I'm poor now...we ate until we couldn't move, and it was only when it was closing time did we get off. After that, we decided what song to cover next.

Went jamming with Alyfie, Darren, Jing Long, Julius and Matin.

It was fun. No pics 'cuz none taken during the whole time.

Don't mean to brag, but my bass skills is much better now, as I got off my ass to get the bass guitar out of my cup board and practice before yesterday's session. We managed to play/scrape through playing 'Pieces' by Sum 41 (again -_-) as a 'band'. Haha, it was fun as heck. Coupled with our improvisations and a drum solo, it was addictive to just jam along.

No wonder I heard stories of people quitting studies just to play instruments.

To end off, playing the riff of 'Sweet Child of Mine' by Guns N' Roses is fun and a great stress killer.

Visited a lot of people's houses., and gambled there. Made a decent killing, compared to last year.

Yesterday pretty much went like this.

*ring ring*

MOE: CHAN HOE YEEN, you are posted to NGEE ANN POLY, DIGITAL VISUAL EFFECTS (N78) UNDER 2009 JAE.

*Sleeps* and wakes up to see numerous SMS messages and missed calls.

So, do I regret taking this course, i don't know, but being in a production house sounds fun. And since this is a media school.....sure got chio bu. *grins*

And then we went jamming,and since everyone's gonna chope and play the guitar, I took the liberty of picking up a few bass chords and some slapping/ pulling tips, which didn't come in handy as Alyfie thought me a very basic bass line to play "Pieces" by Sum-41. T'was fun.
The general 'band' line up was like this....

Alyfie - Guitar, vocals
Darren - Guitar, back up vocals
Me - Bass
Jing Long - Drums

...but this was before Matin, Meldric and BK came. And then it slowly but fun-tasticly degenerated to general anarchy, and noise.

And after that, we went to town and I bought a bermuda at Penin. We watched the Chingay parade, slacked by the Merlion and went home.

And by the way....

Goddamit Meng Huat and Yan Xun especially, stop fucking spamming other people's blogs with your fucking childish nonsense, what the fuck are you? Kids? Grow the fuck up, you sad, sad individuals.

Students hug and have long passionate kiss - in school

Why is it that such things happen when I leave the school?? 4 years, and I've seen nothing as close as this.

One time, Miss Ang, my lit teacher, said that every year, the new batch is getting out of hand, and this year's graduated batch (my batch) is considered "tame".

And another thing, work has been killing me, and I've got other hobbies. Not too long ago, I've picked up the guitar again, and I'm focusing on it rather than blogging. So if I got the time, I will choose the guitar over blogging.

Today, I was transferred to the Pioneer side for work.
Previously, I worked in the Clementi side. Which was terrible without doubt.

Why, Cus the new working place is better. Unlike the Clementi side, which was quiet, here is noisy as hell. We even had paperclip fights!! Damn, back in Clementi, I had to go through a lot of trouble just to get a lousy handful of paperclips. o.O

I used to do culling in indexing. It was boring as hell. I even dreamt of it once i admit. In fact, I dreamt I was just simply culling things, nothing special happened, even in my dreams! In Pioneer, I am assigned to do scanning. The food in Pioneer however, is limited to an economic rice stall which was decent to say the least. In Clementi, they had a large variety of food that is not that bad.

Jing Long, hope you can join us soon. Here we can actually slack, SMS, start 'wars', waste office equipment and cuss loudly.

Jesus, it's a long today.

Woke up at around 9 plus to pay my secondary school a little visit along with a lot of guys. It was the CCA open house day. Those who dyed their hair over the holidays were barred from entry(!) but thatv was resolved when our former form teacher, Mr Lim, came to their rescue. Initially, they were granted 15 minutes, but in the end, they all overstayed. :)

It was busy as heck. I didn't hang around long enough though, and went home, stole a couple hours of break and went out again.

This time, to Peninsula.

Darren and Alyfie wanted to buy guitars. They bought one for less than a 100 bucks. It's black and uses nylon strings.

We played and fooled around with them. Hell, all of our guitar skills are rusty.
I've been thinking. maybe I should pick it up again.

Hanged around for a while before heading to Delphinna's house to celebrate her sister's birthday.

We had ICE CREAM CAKE. Two of my favourite things combined in one. Ice cream and cake. With this, one can reach nirvana. We left at about 11. 40.

This isn't something you see everyday.

When we reached Boon Lay, I shouted "HEY BROTHER, WAKE UP!!" Meldric shouted something similar. The train guys came, dragged him out of there. That's when we took our leave. Lesson learnt: Don't get drunk and pass out in a crowded public place. Sucks to be the guy when he wakes up.

Got to catch some shut-eye now. Adios.

Yesterday was the last day of year 2008! And to kickoff the new year, we went for the countdown at Vivo.

We arrived at about, 8 and we went for dinner.

Worst thing I've ever eaten.

After a hearty meal, we took our time and took pictures.

...and then we went to the rooftop. And after waiting for like 2 hours....
FIREWORKS! Sadly, we can't see much from where we were standing. So I didn't bother myself by taking a lot of photos. :P
